"Once we found at least four of us to go,we hopped on the bondwagon and went full speed ahead!" says Fatin. In August last year, these four girls set off on a nine-day trip to the Annapurna circuit,a series of peaks in the Himalayas of which the highest point,Annapurna I,stands at 8,091 metres.
Four is fantastic
Travelling in a group definitely has its perks.Fatin, the most experienced traveller says she feels safer;Farhanis feels less lonely when it comes to taking public transportation;and Narisha feels that,"Four is the magic number because u can all get cozy in one hotel room to save costs!"Aisyah agrees,"When it comes to group size one is lonely, two is chummy, three is clique-y while four is jolly!"
The best part about travel buddies?
Narisha says,"sharing the experience!Plus you can repeat your travel tales 20 times over without anyone getting bored!
"We also made it a point to encourage each other to try new things, like when I convinced everyone to explore a night club that had a Bollywood theme night!"
Matchy-matchy personalities
Travelling together isn't always easy though. It's important to get people who are fairly tolerant and considerate.Or at least friends who share your interests.Even though other friends wanted to join in,Narisha made it a point to choose people who are fairly easy-going."It's important to get girl with the right mindset according to the 'type' of trip, for example, finding girls who don't mind roughing it out if you're going on a budget trip or not bringing girls who hate shopping on a city trip."
